LikeAbird’s first generation of Inmarsat’s ELERA SATCOM terminal offers BGAN data communications at a rate of up to 200 Kbps through the I-4F and I6F satellite spacecrafts.
The Low-SWaP-C (Size, Weight, Power and Cost) beySAT-BGAN terminal has been designed specifically for unmanned systems applications, in particular for UAV/Drones and UAM.
When one of our customers wants to get online, the signal from their terminal travels to one of our satellites positioned 22,236 miles (35,786km) up in space. From there it is beamed down to a satellite access station (SAS) on the ground to be processed and delivered via a data centre to its destination – whether that’s the internet, a landline or mobile phone, an office network or another Inmarsat terminal. All in less than one second.
LikeAbird’s beySAT-BGAN terminal delivers the latest ELERA L-Band BGAN services in a compact package for globally beyond-visual-line-of-sight (BVLOS) connectivity on remote vehicles and ground stations.
To fulfill the most demanding unmanned systems applications, a variety of customizations are available when bundled with our Smart Router beyAIR-MCG, ranging various connector I/O backplanes, up to RS232/422, ARINC 429, CAN Bus and other interfaces.
BGAN is available across the globe from latitudes of -82° to 82° with the exception of the extreme Polar Regions, providing connectivity wherever your business or operations take you. BGAN services are delivered via Inmarsat’s L-band network, with 99.9 per cent satellite and ground network availability and an operational lifespan into the 2030s and beyond. BGAN meets military and government requirements for security.
The beySAT-BGAN terminal offers mid-band BVLOS communications for command and control (C2), telemetry and video streaming. With the global coverage satellite constellation you can control your remote vehicles from anywhere to anywhere around the world. When paired with the beyAIR-MCG redundant LTE VPN router, enjoy automatic data routing between wireless, cellular and satellite networks.
The ELERA BGAN Service meets military and government requirements for security and supports all major VPN products and encryption standards. Supporting the latest IP services, beySAT-BGAN integrates seamlessly with your UxV and UAM application. For specific operations, beySAT-BGAN supports a guaranteed on-demand Streaming IP rates of 32 kbps up to 64 kbps when using IP Streaming services.
beySAT-BGAN holds a native LAN interface to add Standard IP SATCOM capability to your companion computer and autopilot/flight controller. If bundled with our beyAIR-MCG Smart Router you will get additional multiple flexible analog and digital inputs supporting discrete input/output signals, RS-232/422, ARINC-429, CAN Bus, SMBus/I2C and more.
Strategically located across the globe, diverse sites will support the L-Band Ground Gateways while providing the high assurance synonymous with Inmarsat. As ground network becomes ever more software-driven with cloud-hosted processing capabilities, it is becoming more efficient and agile to optimize latency.
LikeAbird is listening to its customers and recognized that standard Inmarsat Subscription and Pre-Paid Service Plans are not well suited for uncrewed systems operations. Through our UTM & BVLOS Connectivity Service Brand BEYOND we will offer tailored pooled service plans, and VPN data routing services.
